Soldering terminology

Connection between the pads of an integrated circuit and the terminals inside the chip package using wires (Au, Au-Si, Al etc.). This is possible by applying various methods such as thermocompression bonding, ultrasonic bonding and thermosonic bonding, which combines the first two methods.
