    Solder sleeve

The term solder sleeve is actually a registered trademark of Raychem Co., Devices Division (300 Constitution Drive, Menlo Park, California 9402). It is a technique in which several conductors which have been previously provided with flux and solder are passed through a shrink tube which is then heated at the insertion points with hot air at over 125 °C, causing the tube to contract and connecting the conductors. The figure shows the heat shrink tube in longitudinal section, with the cable connection after processing.
