Soldering terminology

A complex is a composite atom in which other atoms or groups of atoms are bound to one or more central atoms. For reasons of identification, the molecular formula is written in square brackets [ ], for example [Cr ₂ (NH ₃ ) ₆ ] ³⁺ or [CrO ₄ ] ^2-. Complexes are used as components of solder flux.
