    Suspension

Liquid in which solid particles are dispersed. If the particles are colloids, we speak of a colloidal suspension (suspensoid). Many industrial products, for example solder paste, paint or coating agents are suspensions. Their rheological properties such as viscosity or fluidity require special consideration. In particular, characteristics such as rheopexy, thixotropy and dilatancy are of importance. See also Rheopexy and Thixotropy.
