    Alkaline cleaning

    Residues of colophony flux material after soldering can be easily removed when converted into soaps using alkaline detergents. Main components of the detergent are organic amines, high boiling point solvents and nonionic surfactants. The solvent is used to remove non-saponified materials while the non-ionic surfactants reduce the surface tension of the water and the alkaline saponifying agent in order to increase the cleaning effect.
