    Hydrophilic radical

Radical of a molecule that forms compounds with water molecules with a particular ease, such as OH, the hydroxyl group, the carboxyl group COOH, or the amino group NH. Fluxing agents become hydrophilic by the addition of polyoxyethylene. If the carrier material of a fluxing agent has a hydrophilic radical, its residue can be easily removed by cleaning with water.
