M-Line for Solder Wire

New M-Line

Our new developed M-Line is the follow-up for our well known S-Line. These product lines are developed to minimize iron tip consumption which saves you a lot of money. The M- and S-Line use Almit Patents with a higher iron content in the alloy which minimizes the problem of tip erosion caused by the high Sn content in lead-free alloys.

Two more reasons for iron tip erosion while using lead-free solders are the longer solder time and the higher temperature which is necessary because of the higher melting point of lead-free alloys. The compination of Almit high performance fluxes and our M-Line alloy, improves wettability at lower temperature and shortens the soldering time. This causes a result of tip exchange reduction, which leads to substantial cost reduction.

The minimizing of the tip erosion with our new M-Line is also visible by comparing the surface of the soldering tip. The test was made after 20.000 shots with 380°C. By comparing the tip surface which was soldered with our M-Line, to the tip which was soldered with standard SAC305, a reduction of 86% in tip erosion can be observed. These observations are shown in the following graphics:
