    Etch factor

In the manufacture of printed circuits, there is the risk that etching makes the openings in the conductor layer become larger than predetermined values. This widening must be taken into account as an etching factor. From a thickness of 0.125 mm of the metal layer, the dimensions of rectangular apertures and the radii of circular openings are reduced by 25 % of the layer thickness. See also etching factor.
