Abbreviation for Isopropyl alcohol (Isopropanol). One of the two isomers of propyl alcohol (propanol). Boiling point: 82.7 °C; specific weight at 20 °C: 0.7887. It is obtained by reduction of acetone and therefore yields acetone in oxidation. Among other things, it is used for dilution and purification of post-flux during soldering. The second isomer of n-propanol is a liquid with an alcoholic odor and miscible with water in all proportions (see Isopropyl alcohol, Isomer and Post-flux).
