    Soldering oil

Oil added to the solder bath in order to protect the surface of the solder from oxidation or to reduce the surface tension so that it flows better. The main components are water-soluble oil or mineral oil and several products contain glycols. In wave soldering, the soldering oil is introduced into the solder bath using a pump. Since the oil can be a source of pollution, flux recovery, oil and solvent residues etc. must be taken into account in advance. It is particularly important to prevent oil residues to cause difficulties in the cleaning process. Since the use of all materials has advantages and disadvantages alike, careful consideration is advised when making a choice .
